    According to this, the whole duplex concept(at Altec) was the idea of an Altec dealer named Art Crawford: DUPLEX

    That article was written by Don Davis.Nice read.. Thanks Nat, very interesting 604. The diaphragm looks to be in real nice shape.The lead in wires have a very nice arc to them.

    Yep...conversation piece and Smithsonian level find. And if you never match it up, how about a center speaker in a home theater system!

    It's what I love about being an Altec aficionado.... You think you've seen everything, then along comes one more piece.
    It's likely that it only ever came out as a single - mono - system, given the date.

    Still a great piece of history, hope it sells to someone who really appreciates it.
